Yachiru-san wa Homeru to Nobiru

Yachiru-san wa Homeru to Nobiru tells the story of Yachiru, a Hasshakusama yokai living in the human world. Due to the modern public perception of Hasshakusama as more seductive than frightening, her supernatural powers have weakened, causing her height to shrink from her original 8 shaku (240 cm) to around 190 cm.

Determined to restore her fearsome reputation, Yachiru works hard every day to change how people see her, but her efforts repeatedly end in failure. However, while studying horror films at a movie theater, she encounters Seiichirou, a young man who deeply admires Hasshakusama.

Yachiru soon discovers that whenever Seiichirou praises her, her powers return and her height grows back to its original size. Thus begins a unique supernatural comedy about reputation, admiration, and a yokai’s quest to reclaim her true form.
