Kami-tachi ni Hirowareta Otoko follows the story of Ryouma Takebayashi, a 39-year-old man who passes away after living a life filled with hardship and misfortune. Moved by his struggles, three benevolent gods grant him a second chance: reincarnation in a magical world with only one simple mission — to live freely, be himself, and enjoy life. Blessed with extraordinary physical strength and the rare ability to master all elements of magic, Ryouma is reborn as a young boy and teleported into a vast forest. The gods promise to watch over him as he begins his new journey. Three years later, Ryouma has spent his time peacefully researching and taming slimes. Through dedication and experimentation, he evolves several unique slime species and builds an entire slime army while steadily refining his magical abilities. Living comfortably in his cave deep within the forest, he enjoys his quiet, self-sufficient life — though he occasionally longs for human companionship. Everything changes when Ryouma heals an injured traveler from a duke’s household. Impressed by his skills, the group invites him to leave the forest and explore the outside world.
